The production operator position is an extrusion machine operator position that requires broad knowledge of production processes, equipment troubleshooting, equipment operation, packaging procedures, health and safety policies, and quality policies. Individuals are expected to run up to two extruders along with other production pieces of equipment such as tote tumblers, and the screw/element oven with minimal supervision in a participative team environment.

All operators must comply with all safety/health/environmental policies, procedures and participate in company sponsored safety programs/activities. Operators are empowered to stop any unsafe condition or action that might create a hazard to themselves or others in the plant.
You will be responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with our Environmental and Quality Policies. This position is also responsible for reporting to management deviations from the policy when they are observed.
You will also be responsible for production line set up, in process monitoring and finished material packaging. Operators must comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and run the production line within Standard Operating Conditions (SOC's), operators are responsible for reporting deviations to Supervisors or Lead.
Production Operator positions consists of 4 primary work areas/activities:
Single Screw Compounding
Twin Screw Compounding
Material Handling and Preparation
Finished Goods Packaging
Production Operators are key to the quality of our products and as such must ensure materials are manufactured to the highest possible quality standards and free of any contamination.
Our Facility runs 24/7 with 4 production crews working rotating 12 hour shifts (2 months Days / 2 months Nights). Each crew is scheduled up to 24 months in advance (working 3 or 4 days per week with 2 weekends scheduled off each month) which means you'll always know your schedule and will enjoy plenty of time away with family and friends.
Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Operators must be able to:
Work well in a team environment with limited supervision
Demonstrate good communication skill
Work safely and confortably in a non-climate controlled environment and around hot equipment
Operate from elevated heights, climb stairs and ladders
Obtain a Forklift Drivers Licenses
Lift 55lbs (floor to chest)
Calculate percentages, ratios, unit conversions, averages, as well as apply addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as required to manufacturing operations/requirements
The production environment does require wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), supplied by the company, which may include:
Hard Hat
Safety Glasses
Uniform
Ear plugs
Safety Shoes
Gloves (Several types)
Respirator, as needed (Facial Hair policy, requires shaving in seal area)
Other specialized task specific PPE as needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Previous experience with Single/Twin Screw extruder and ancillary equipment
Forklift operation (Counterbalance / sit down)
Basic Mechanical skills and tool knowledge
Able to work with limited supervision
Experience in Safety programs or ERT
