Overview The Cincinnati Fire Museum is dedicated to celebrating and preserving Cincinnati's rich fire history and saving lives through fire safety education.
The Cincinnati Fire Museum's Collection is comprised of over 700 items plus a sizeable archive of photos, documents, and records.
It represents the firefighting history of Cincinnati from the very first volunteer fire company formed in 1808 to motorized apparatus used in modern day firefighting.
Position Summary The Cincinnati Fire Museum intern will support the Director to conduct a comprehensive inventory and catalog with the goal of eventually completing a digitization project of the entire museum collection.
The project will provide the museum with substantially improved intellectual and physical control of a large portion of its object collection, resulting in increased access and improved collection care.
The catalog will also be uploaded to our website to give researchers all over the world access to our collection.
The primary role of the intern is to record the name, provenance, and condition of each artifact and assign an accession number.
The intern will work independently for the majority of the time, but at times will also work closely with other staff/volunteers.
There is an opportunity for the intern to gain an understanding of museum best practices, collection database management, and museum registration processes.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
