Support implementation of Medical strategy in North America, supporting the product/application development activities of medical & pharma OEMS, design companies, moulders and industry associations in the value chain. Develop key relationships with developers, designers, engineers at these stakeholders.
Lead specific Application platforms and projects in the Medical business area, taking ownership of application platform activities, including leadership of key projects
Provide technical support and advice to customer/other stakeholders in North America to assist the design and development of their products using AEM polymers
Develop and grow new opportunity pipeline in both new and existing Medical applications to maximise profitable new growth for AEM
Assess new market/application leads, opportunities and ideas. Analyse fit with Ticona technology capability and make recommendations
Support new product projects by identifying customer needs and translating them into suitable product criteria and specifications
Plan, develop and execute new growth projects along with marketing counterpart.
Understand the value that Ticona''s products bring to customer applications, and support and provide input to commercial team regarding pricing approach
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
Degree or Diploma in polymer / material science, polymer chemistry, plastics engineering or engineering design
Minimum 3-5 years working experience in a technical, product development or applications development / support role in an engineering polymers or plastics industry position. Experience in the medical device industry is an added benefit.
Minimum 3 years experience working with closely with customers on new development projects or providing application support as part of previous job function
Deep knowledge and understanding of engineering plastics / polymer related applications and markets
Results driven, self-motivated individuals with a growth mindset
Strong planning skills and proven ability to manage and execute projects from initiation to commercialization.
Strong experience working in a team environment and ability to easily connect and adapt to different people and environments both internally and externally
Able to travel up to 50% of time
Desirable
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience with materials in the medical technology and / or in the medical devices sector would be a plus
Additional commercial experience would be a bonus, including the ability to build new relationships with developers and designers in order to leverage EM's business position.
